When life is a little rough, I choose to tackle only simple sewing projects.
These tanks and dresses just fly out of the sewing room.
They are based on the Papercut Patterns Sway dress pattern, but with modified width due to fabric limitations.
They are super easy to cut, nothing fussy, and especially fast to sew as I just turn under the neck, arm and hems and coverstitch them in place.
This one is a wadder, but I might just wear it around the house or even hack it into another tank.
I’m looking forward to school and life slowing down a little for a couple of weeks before the real Christmas crazy begins.
It’s been a while since I used this pattern, but my most worn version has finally died. The fabric stretch has disintegrated beyond wear 🙁 so it had to be replaced.
This dress was made with a poly knit remnant that I picked up from Pitt Trading earlier this year. From memory it was less than $20 for the piece and it was just large enough for this dress, which is a bit of a fabric eater due to the full skirt.
I really like this dress. It is very wearable, requires no under lining or slip and doesn’t show any boobage. My photos are a little dark, but that’s what you get when your backyard becomes a construction site and really, I can’t be too picky these days. It’s bad photos or no photos really.
As with previous times that I’ve made this frock, I did not use any of the facings, but rather ironed on some bias knit tape to the wrong side, turned it under and cover stitched in place. This makes this quite a fast make.
I possibly shortened the dress a little too much, but that’s what you get sometimes. It’s still a great frock and I’m certain it will get a lot of wear.
From remnants come kids clothes.
We can be a little matchy matchy now! This Zimmerman swim fabric was from Tessuti. My swimmers in this fabric are here.
Nothing much more to say about the Cosi swimsuit pattern, but I still love it. I made a size 6 for Adele this time and tightened the leg elastic and while they are a little long in the body, they still fit nicely and should do so until the end of summer.
I have a backlog of items to show here. I just need to get my report comments done first!
